Why I'm a Social Worker

My approach to therapy emphasizes self-awareness and mindfulness. I am passionate about facilitating self-discovery. When clients come to see me after experiencing trauma or if they are burdened by life’s stressors, I encourage them to identify healthy perceptions of the self. In my work with PTSD, I encourage clients to explore Post Traumatic Growth, which emphasizes the potential for growth in the aftermath of trauma.

I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters in Social Work. I have extensive experience with military veterans and families. As a military “brat” and a military spouse, I have volunteered in the military community and understand the unique needs and challenges of military life. I have practiced in multiple clinical settings in the states of Kansas, Texas, and New Mexico, applying treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and I am EMDR trained. I work with adults and adolescents 16 and older and treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder.
