Hi! I'm Wendy!
Pronouns: She/Her
I am so glad you are here and appreciate the effort you have taken. I believe we all deserve to have someone to engage with who has our best interests at heart, and is able to assist us in becoming who we want to be. It would be a privilege to be that person for you. If you are looking for a therapist who simply nods at everything you say, you might want to move on. I will actively engage you, encourage your curiosity, and gently challenge you, because it is at the edge where we learn.
More About Me
Not everything has a silver lining. Not everything is a story of triumph. But my decision to become a social worker represents my own path forward, and it is not something I could have done without the life-long and more recent challenges I have faced. Similarly, I hope to help clients understand their own experiences as a source of strength and to reimagine their future.
I have a background in engineering and quantitative fields. But what catalyzed the journey that brought me to a place where I can be of use to you are my own experiences with loss, grief, and recovery, including a catastrophic climbing fall, its resulting disability and my subsequent, messy journey. Your path will be unique to you and you do not need to have fallen off the side of a mountain to seek therapy; I work with a myriad of populations and concerns.
Congratulate yourself for taking charge of the change you want to see.

Things I Love:
Outside of work, I enjoy climbing (rock and ice), skiing, participating and teaching adaptive sports, Scandinavian noir/police shows, and SUP surfing.
